FAQS

What is RED Mountain Homes?

RED Mountain Homes is the residential development arm of RED Mountain Resort in Rossland, BC. We design and build contemporary mountain homes at the base of one of North America’s top-rated ski resorts — homes built for real life at RED, across all four seasons. RED is located approximately 2.5 hours north of Spokane, WA (Spokane International Airport), 3.5 hours from Kelowna International Airport, and just 20 minutes from the Trail Regional Airport, making it one of the most accessible resort destinations in Western Canada.

Where exactly are the homes located?

Our neighbourhoods sit at and around the base of RED Mountain, seven minutes from historic downtown Rossland and approximately 2.5 hours north of Spokane, WA. Depending on the neighbourhood, homes range from steps to the lifts to a short walk with mountain views in every direction.

What types of homes are available?

The RED Mountain Homes collection includes alpine condos, townhomes, and single-family homesites across four neighbourhoods: The Wildwood, The Daly, The Glades, and Caldera. Each offers a distinct ownership experience — from ski-in/ski-out access to private canopy settings to build-your-own homesites.

Can I rent out my home when I'm not using it?

Yes. All RED Mountain Homes permit short-term and nightly rentals. Owners can choose to self-manage or enroll with RED Property Management — the on-site team that handles everything from bookings to maintenance. RED Property Management is operated in connection with RED Mountain Resort, which means your property benefits from the resort’s own marketing reach, booking channels, and guest network. That’s a meaningful advantage over a standard third-party property manager. Learn more about the rental program.

What warranty comes with a new home?

Every RED Mountain Home comes with a standard 2/5/10 new home warranty — two years on labour and materials, five years on the building envelope, and ten years on structure and foundation.

Is RED Mountain a four-season destination?

Very much so. Beyond world-class skiing and snowboarding in winter, RED offers a lift-accessed bike park, hiking, trail running, golf nearby, and a growing summer events calendar. Rossland itself has an active, year-round community that owners become part of.

How do I get started?

Register your interest and a member of our sales team will be in touch to walk you through current availability, pricing, and next steps. You can also book a virtual tour or visit us in person at the Discovery Centre, located at the base of RED.

What is the long-term vision for RED Mountain Resort?

RED Mountain is privately owned and intentionally growing — which is exactly what makes it special. The resort is expanding its terrain, amenities, and infrastructure with a focus on long-term viability rather than short-term volume. RED Mountain Homes works closely with the resort and local community organizations to ensure that growth enhances rather than erodes what makes Rossland and RED so distinct. For buyers making a long-term ownership decision, that alignment matters. Watch the most recent webinar for the latest vision directly from RED’s President.
